This room is also known as Judgment. In many categories, these metroids are the last time you can get the drops you need in order to have enough ammo to continue a run. "Judgment" refers to the RNG gods judging whether your run is worthy of the drops.

Late Game
With the exception of high-ammo categories like 100% and GT Classic, most runners will group this last room to conserve Super Missiles in the hopes of having enough for Mother Brain's first phase. This is most commonly done by running off the top platform, hugging the wall and running left off the second platform, soft-morphing as you land, then rolling under the third Metroid before unmorphing.

Freezing the first Rinka as it spawns will prevent it from interfering with Samus at the bottom of the room, helps set up the other Rinkas to do the damage boost through the doorway, and will reduce lag going through the door transition if the damage boost is not used.

Especially in a race setting or Low% run, runners who are low on ammo when they reach this room will often kill the first two metroids, then see if they got drops good enough to continue, and reset the room if not. The metroids in each room will respawn as long as at least one was still alive upon leaving the room.

Some runners opt to use the above-mentioned Rinka damage boost if they enter this room low on health since it only costs 10hp. If health is not a consideration, runners will still often choose the Rinka Boost if they use Missiles on the Metroids due to ammo concerns.
This is commonly referred to as Tourian Hopper Room.

Some runners will opt to damage boost off of a Rinka in the previous room, while others will opt to damage boost off of these hoppers. It is possible to avoid these hoppers completely, but very difficult. The Rinka Boost only costs 10hp, so often runners will use that if they are low on health after the Metroid rooms, since ideally they will do the Metroid Skip and enter Mother Brain's room with the same hp they leave this room with.

If health is not a consideration, runners will often choose between the Rinka Boost and the Hopper Boost based on the ammo counts going in to Metroid Room 4. If they need to use missiles on the Metroids, they use the Rinka Boost. If they use a Super on the Metroids, they use a Hopper Boost.

This variation of the hopper damage boost is fairly easy, relative to the faster method of jumping straight into the hopper for a damage boost. Since the RNG value is normalized on entering a room containing any type of hopper, if you keep the right-side hopper on screen it will always do two large jumps and a small jump. This damage boost happens right as the small jump starts.
Plasma Spark
It’s not actually impossible. While it’s not easy by any means, it is the fastest way through the room in KPDR. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best strat, as health is often at a high premium.
As seen in the Plasma Spark video, ideally you will jump to the left of the Skultera, but the timing on this is tight, even if you're not going for the spark.

You have the option of running through the first Owtch with the Blue Suit to collect its drop, before going up and right, then jumping left up the shaft.

Alternatively, you can pick up an extra drop by climbing up and jumping to the right of the Skultera when it's at its leftmost point of travel next to the ledge. You can then farm the left-side Choot before walljumping up.

After getting Plasma, you can go up and kill the Choots on your way to the tunnel door. You can fire a diagonal Super to hit the door at approximately the same time you pick up the drop from the last Choot.

If you get knocked down, you're better off continuing down and left around to the door instead of continuing up.

As a beginner if you find yourself consistently being hit by the first Choot, you could stand underneath it and fire a shot up before jumping, performing a Hero Shot to freeze it before jumping up.
The false wall at the top of the room shows as if it was solid with the X-Ray Scope, so some players doing blind playthroughs trust that the wall is solid, and end up exiting Lower Norfair through the elevator, which requires diving into the acid in Amphitheatre. Some in the community have speculated that the wall was transparent with X-Ray during the design and playtest stages, but then they added the Firefleas late in development. The two visual effects don't work properly together, and as a result the wall looks solid.
A common strat for this room is to short-charge on the upper platform, do a speedball into a springball jump that grabs the missiles on the way up, and destroys the first set of blocks in the maze. Sometimes runners can even get the second set of blocks.

The strat was demonstrated by Hotarubi in this video, and subsequently called the "Hotarubi Special" by Seancass. Until this video was rediscovered, there was a misconception that he didn't invent the strat, because the strat wasn't in his 100% run.
This is commonly referred to as Baby Kraid Room.

Make sure you don't run into Baby Kraid, especially on the way in. With only the Power Suit, colliding with him will do 100 damage. Depending on your health management so far in the run, that could mean death.

When exiting Kraid's Lair, make sure you jump through the door on the left. This will ensure that the Kihunters in the next room are in a favorable position to allow you to walljump out of the hole. If they are not in a favorable position, you may need to morph after walljumping to boost through them. Otherwise, they may knock you back into the hole.

Ammo Management
On the way in, you need to be aware of your ammo counts, to ensure you have enough to do your chosen method of Kraid Quick Kill. Mini-Kraid drops five items, the first four of which appear right away, and the fifth appears after a few seconds. If you use the Four Super method on Kraid, then you will want to have five supers when you leave this room so you can use one on the Gadora (Eye Door). This generally means you want to have one by the time you run through Mini-Kraid's drops so you can be at full. However, Mini-Kraid does have a small chance of each of its drops being a Big Energy (each drop has the same chance as a Cacatac's drop), so having two Supers when you run through Mini-Kraid's drops will be safer. If you're short on Supers after this room, then you can wait for the fifth drop, and reload the room if you still need more (which can sometimes be faster than attempting to farm in Kraid Eye Door Room).
To save on Missiles/Supers for the Kraid fight, you can use a Powerbomb planted just after the second Pirate to kill all 3 Pirates.

Ideally, you can kago mockball through the first pirate before planting the Powerbomb, then kago-unmorph as you get hit by a spike before killing Mini Kraid. Zoast developed this strat, and named it the Double-Kago Mockball with Fries and a Shake.
The first time through, you can Quick Drop the bomb blocks as they break, then downback through the shot blocks as you shoot them out. A small spinjump will allow you to get through the next set of ledges without bonking. If you're at the left edge of the glowing background pillar, that will allow you to avoid bonking any of the Rippers on your way down. A diagonal shot between the second and third Ripper will hit the door.

Once you drop Early Ice from your route, you won't be able to freeze the Rippers to stand on them, but instead you can use Hi-Jump Boots, and then walljump off of the lip of the ledge.

For the Hero Shot to break the top block, you can just do a single jump to follow it up, as opposed to without Hi-Jump which requires multiple quick walljumps.

You can get past the third ripper without waiting, but it requires incredibly tight walljumps, and isn't considered RTA-viable:

This is a more easier beginner friendly strat to go up red tower.

If you can't do the Hero Shot strat, you could take it in two passes, shooting out the block, falling down, and climbing back up before the block respawns:

If you become attached to one of the Yapping Maws without Hi-Jump Boots, you will need to spinjump to escape, as normal jumps will not work. Alternatively, a crouch jump into a downgrab should also work if you can pull it off while you still have invulnerability from the spikes.

Early Game
If you start running into West Tunnel from anywhere but the left edge of the platform you'll need to let go of Dash for a few frames to ensure you don't bonk the door leading to Glass Tunnel. But if you start running from the left edge, your shot will move fast enough that it will open the door quickly enough for you to run through, without needing to let go of Dash.
If you have Speed Booster and are heading left instead of right, you can charge a shinespark in the previous room to shinespark through half of this room and Bat Room. This is referred to as the "alpha spark" as it is the first shinespark that a run of Any% KPDR can use to save time (named by Sinister).

A typical sequence (assuming Wave Beam or similar) is to fire at the Cacatac in the middle once, jump towards its location, fire at the Cacatac again before landing to kill it, opening the door, and shinesparking through.

The setup in this video is a bit slower than optimal, but is consistent: if you bonk the door after the elevator, you can continue holding Dash, and avoid bonking the second door without stutters or taps. Then you can charge the shinespark after the halfway point of West Tunnel.
Options to open the gate
The intended strategy to traverse this room from left to right to obtain the Energy Tank in the Hoptank Room is to get up to the pillar (Walljumping is sufficient even though the intention is to use Grappling Beam to get up there hence the grapple block) and shoot open the gate by using Wave Beam.

However there is a workaround that only requires a Super Missile. The idea is similiar to a normal traditional Gate Glitch. Accelerating a Super Missile fast enough relative to its position to the gate to push it through the actual gate and into the sensor to open the gate from the other side. This is obviously not intended and even for the classic Gate Glitch a special case since that is usually only possible if the sensor is on the left.

Following are videos showing the setup for the trick and its execution. Note that there are different setups for both with and without Hi-Jump Boots and that generally speaking, performing that trick with it is easier:

Gate Glitch with Hi-Jump
This method is arguably the easiest. As with all methods you have to allign Samus´ back with the wall which can be done by Moonwalking, Damage-knockback, Morphball-Turnaround etc. , then jump up and shoot at the right time as shown in the video. Two good visual cues people use are Samus´ center being at the upper doorframe and/or Samus´ head touching the little pink mushroom above the doorframe. Thoose same visual cues can be used for the Hi-Jumpless methods aswell even though the setup is different as shown below.

Gate Glitch without Hi-Jump
Normalized indoor setup demonstrated by matrick2298.

The idea behind both of theese setups is similiar to the Hi-Jump setup. You still have to perfectly allign with the wall and shoot with just enough acceleration at the right spot. However due to the lack of jump height a ground setup is not possible. That is the reason why you have to jump out of the door to make up for the lack of Hi-Jump Boots. However since you still need to be pixelperfectly alligned with the wall you need to do that allignment out of a jump which is considerably more difficult, yet with enough practice can be very consistent. The first video shows how that jump is done intuitively by only slightly tapping right after the jump out of the doorframe. The second video describes in all detail how to normalize that setup with turanround jumps. Both setups have their difficultys, however method 2 is probably generaly speaking more consistent due to the normalisation.

As the second video shows, if you have moonwalk enabled, this is the easiest way to align Samus' back against the wall.

The timing for the shot is not different from the Hi-Jump Boots method.

The gate can also be opened with a horizontal super, but there as there is no normalized setup for this, there is no reason to choose this method over the above methods.
To get the Spore Spawn Super Missiles without fighting Spore Spawn, you can enter the Spore Spawn Farming Room from this side, by destroying the bomb blocks, and then shooting the Super Missile block. The Super Missile will often despawn before it hits the block, but there are five positions that prevent this.

Historically a Crystal Flash was used inside that morph tunnel in order to force Samus into a crouching pose, allowing her to fire a super right next to the block. This can be seen here.

Charge Beam Escape Clip
When coming from Waterway Energy Tank Room in such categories as 100%, you are able to clip through the bomb block above the charge beam item instead of destroying it. This is a 3 step clip. First, run and jump holding down to stand upright on top of the bomb block. Second, jump and press down and then press forward. This will get your foot stuck in the top of the block. Third, jump to perform the clip.
This is commonly referred to as Mission Impossible Room.

One of two rooms where after entering from a previous room (in this case, Big Pink), the door leading to that room will already be closed before the transition has completed. However, this only occurs if this room is revisited after unlocking the upper door by destroying the two Sidehoppers. The other rooms where this occurs is Halfie Climb Room, Crocomire Speedway, and Green Brinstar Main Shaft.

100%
A common strategy for 100% is to Quick Drop through the crumble block, grab the Power Bomb, then spin-jump through the hole in the ceiling before the crumble block reforms, and wall jump the rest of the way up. This strat is known as "Mission: Impossible", because of similarities to the Vault scene from the 1996 movie.
A good beginner's strat involves killing the pirates from the bottom left to the top right.

On your way in, if you don't jump through the door, then you'll need to let go of Right after you fall of the ledge, otherwise you will land on the top middle platform.

A variation of this strat can be used in Late Ice routes. More spacing needs to be put between the two shots for each pirate, so it's slightly slower.

A more advanced strat can use damage boosts to both get across the room faster, and to fix the door without jumping through it.

If you set off a Power Bomb on the way down, it will cause hit the wall pirates once each, making it so that if you're doing a Late Ice route they only need one shot. It also makes them move even when off-screen. This strat takes advantage of that to get the right-side Pirate to jump left without ever bringing it on screen.
This room is known as Kassiuz Room or Plasma Climb.

If you moonfall through this room starting in the Plasma Tutorial Room, and land in the pit before jumping up, that will fix the door transition. Any method attempting to fix that door by jumping through it will almost always lose time compared with simply running through.

Climbing
If you enter the room on the ground, you can hold Left and Jump to buffer a spinjump. If you land on the first two Choot platforms, you can kill them farm them and get them out of the way of your jumps.

If you efficiently walljump up the left side, that can allow you to avoid all of the enemies and reach the top quickly.

Hotarubi also included a damage boost at the top off of the top Choot into the door. This also allows you to use your iframes to get through the enemies in the next room.

If you do a large jump up to the second Choot's platform, you can bait it into jumping up, so that you can land and jump off of its platform as it moves right in its glide pattern.
Plasma Spark
It’s not actually impossible. While it’s not easy by any means, it is the fastest way through the room in KPDR. That doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the best strat, as health is often at a high premium.

Any% KPDR
