Bombs are mostly used to destroy bomb blocks to open up passages. They deal 30 damage, but killing enemies with them is usually very slow (beyond the fact that their damage is low), since Samus need to be morphed, get close to the target, wait for the bomb to detonate, and have the bomb detonate on top of the target.
