Ideally you can mockball into the Energy Tank tunnel on your way in. TheHockeyTowner named this strat Yahtzee due to this commercial.
It's fairly common to use a diagonal shinespark to farm the fish in this room, but that's slower than just using a beam to farm one round.
For Early Ice, this strat allows you to quickly farm 3 out of 4 Puyos, while allowing a simple 1-tap to get the Blue state by the time you hit the sand.
