An earthquake effect starts once you've picked up the item, accompanying the lava rising through this room and the next.
In TASes that enter this room, a Power Bomb is used in order to override the earthquake's sound, to clear the sound queue before the door transition. This can be done in RTA runs as well, but may not be advisable depending on ammo.
